Getting ice lolly worth 50 cents at a foreign night market
***
The first night at Siem Reap, we walked to the nearby night market. It was vibrant and busy. I was bewildered with the many new things I haven’t seen before; a Cambodian man was singing Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ to attract people to buy what I think is local salad, skulls of crocodiles and heaps of food carts sells all kinds of never-before-seen local food.
An ice pop truck caught my attention. A traditional machine is attached to the cart, in which the lollies were made. I believe believe method was once employed in Malaysia during my parents generation. Anyway, I chose mango and passion fruit flavour, licked the cold lolly and that made my day!
