A few days ago, I made my longest prayer at Vatican’s St.Paul Basilica. Yesterday, at the ancient city of Pompeii, I’m reminded that the downfall of the unbelievably civilized Roman Empire is invasion of Barbarians.

Barbarians still exist today, says the tour guide: terrorist who destroys nations and kill another person in the name of any God or ideals.

Especially learning about the recent beheading of Sotloff and the reason behind it, I only hope to be a moderate follower. One who shows God’s goodness through (unimposing) actions and kind words.

Sometimes I feel what the world needs now is peacemakers more than pious people.
