ABOUT LUNCHBOX MONDAY
LUNCHBOX MONDAY is a social campaign initiated by Sara Khong to encourage Malaysians to pack lunch to work. The campaign is supported by 1M4U, a non-profit organisation that helps to nurture and cultivate volunteerism amongst Malaysian youth.
This campaign is to encourage Malaysians to pack lunch to work. Sara hopes that this will help improve health and finance of working adults and students.
HOW IT WORKS?
We gave away LUNCHBOX MONDAY GIFT SETS which contains practical containers and flasks to 10 volunteers. They packed lunch to their office every Monday for a month.
She hope that the materials will help working adults kickstart the good habit of taking lunch to work. These volunteers will share their new goal with their family, friends, colleagues and social media followers.
Through her online magazine, JewelPie, Sara shares simple lunchbox-friendly recipe such as claypot chicken rice and sandwich. The goal is to spread the word to as many Malaysians as she can.
HOW SUCCESSFUL IS THE CAMPAIGN?
- Collected 100 pledges from Malaysians from all walks of life to bring lunch to work every Monday.
- Enlisted 10 volunteers to bring homemade lunch to work.
- Published a FREE cook book ‘LUNCHBOX MONDAY’ containing recipes and tips to pack lunch to work.
DREAM: Revival of lunchbox habit
This social campaign doesn’t end here. Sara hopes to revive the culture of packing lunch to work and urge all Malaysians to try to commit to pack lunch to work at least once a week. She will continue to advocate packing lunch to work at her home lifestyle magazine, JewelPie.
We encourage you to bring lunch to work every Monday. You can cook a bigger dinner on Sunday and pack the extra food to work. If Monday is not a good day, do it another day. The goal is to pack lunch to work at least once a week.
