Definition of ‘shopping’

Yesterday, at the supermarket, I sent a photo with a caption that reads “Shopping. Ttyl”. It shocked me. Shopping nowadays means buying celery and cane sugar, not clothes and cosmetics (?!). A wave of sadness washed over me. Is this the price of adulthood?

So the next day, with some vouchers I received at Christmas, I went to the women’s section at the departmental store. I had initially thought of buying a kitchen appliance like a slow-juicer or something for the home. But today I feel this hardworking girl deserves a few frivolous things that are not in her to-buy list…like a pair of comfortable studded loafer and a pretty laced cheongsam.

Oh, one cannot be practical all the time!
